Nine years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child, I read an article in the newspaper about naturalist childbirth.

9년 전 첫 아이를 임신했을 때, 신문에서 자연주의 출산에 관한 기사를 읽었습니다.

So, my husband and I decided on a naturalist birth, where the mother is the central figure without medical intervention.

Naturalist childbirth required more involvement from my husband compared to a typical birth.

자연주의 출산은 일반적인 출산에 비해 남편이 해야 할 일이 많았습니다.

He had to attend classes on childbirth and pregnancy, and he needed to assist me in alleviating the pain during labor.

출산과 임신에 대한 수업도 들어야 했고, 제가 진통이 올 때 통증을 경감시키도록 도와줘야 했습니다.

As we were preparing to become parents, I went into labor three days before the due date.

그렇게 부모가 될 준비를 하던 중 출산 예정일을 3일 앞두고 진통이 시작되었습니다.

Without any of the usual hospital procedures, I gave birth to our baby in water.

보통 병원에서 행하는 절차는 하나도 없이 저는 물에서 아이를 출산했습니다.

I vividly remember the moment when the baby was lifted out of the water and placed in my arms, not crying but blinking her eyes.

물에서 건져 올려 제 품에 안긴 아기가 울지도 않고 눈을 깜빡이고 있던 모습이 생생합니다.
