Korea’s population problem is one of its most pressing social issues.

대한민국의 시급한 사회 이슈 중 하나는 바로 인구 문제입니다.

With one of the lowest birth rates in the world, there are growing concerns about the population that will lead our society in the future.

전 세계 최저 수준에 가까운 출산율 때문에, 미래에 우리 사회를 이끌어 갈 인구에 대한 우려가 커지고 있습니다.

There are two key aspects of immigration policy.

이민 정책은 두 가지 요소가 중요합니다.

The first is “assimilation.”

첫 번째는 ‘동화(assimilation)’입니다.

Assimilation refers to the cultural integration process.

동화는 문화적 통합 과정으로,

It’s where people from diverse backgrounds adopt the customs, values, and norms of the country they immigrate to.

다양한 배경에서 온 사람들이 이민 온 나라의 관습, 가치, 규범을 채택하는 것을 말합니다.

The key is integrating minority cultures into the dominant culture.

중요한 것은 소수 문화를 주류 문화에 통합시키는 데 있습니다.

The second aspect is “multiculturalism.”

두 번째는 ’다문화주의(multiculturalism)‘입니다.

Multiculturalism is an approach that recognizes and promotes the coexistence of various cultural traditions within a society.

다문화주의는 사회 내에서 다양한 문화 전통의 공존을 인정하고 장려하며 접근하는 것입니다.

It encourages the preservation of cultural identities among different ethnic and cultural groups.

다문화 주의는 다양한 민족 및 문화 집단 간의 문화적 정체성을 보존하도록 장려합니다.
