Singapore Pioneers Biometric Immigration instead of Passports at Changi Airport

Singapore is introducing a groundbreaking biometric immigration system at Changi Airport, eliminating the need for passports. 

싱가포르 창이 공항에 획기적인 생체 인식 출입국 시스템을 도입하여 여권이 필요 없게 된다.

​The system will expand to all terminals by September and to other entry points by December 2024.

It allows eligible travelers to clear immigration using eye and facial biometrics, with plans to extend the service to foreign travelers upon departure.

However, children under six and certain other travelers will still use traditional methods, as the system aims to automate 95% of immigration clearance by early 2026.
