24.10.12 More Americans Are Saying No to Having Kids

A survey of American women shows that a growing number​ do not want to have children.

미국 여성들을 대상으로 한 설문 조사에 따르면, 아이를 갖고 싶어 하지 않는 여성의 수가 점점 늘고 있습니다.

In fact, the number has climbed 10 percent since 2018.

실제로 그 수가 2018년 이후로 10% 증가했습니다.

The researchers ​broke down the reasons given, which included 57 percent who said they simply didn't want children.

연구자들은 주어진 이유들을 분석했는데, 여기엔 그냥 자녀를 원하지 않는다고 답한 사람이 57%나 되었습니다.

Other reasons for ​opting out of having children included financial concerns, health issues, and even concerns about climate change.

One respondent said she didn't understand why people ​look down on her for not wanting to make her life more difficult.
