24.09.25 Coal Briquette Volunteer Work

I recently went to deliver coal briquettes as volunteer work. I found the project through a volunteer website.

저는 최근에 한 자원봉사 사이트를 통해서 알게 된 연탄 배달 봉사 활동을 다녀왔습니다.

Volunteers make a donation of 10,000 won which is used to purchase coal briquettes.

A single briquette costs 850 won and weighs 3.65 kg.

연탄 한 장의 가격은 850원이며, 무게는 3.65킬로그램입니다.

Since briquettes are used not only in the dead of winter but from September to June of the following year, a considerable amount is needed.

연탄은 한 겨울에만 때는 게 아니라 9월부터 다음해 6월까지 때야 하니, 꽤 많은 양의 연탄이 필요하다고 합니다.

Once the volunteers had gathered, we went through a brief orientation.

봉사자들이 모이자 간단한 오리엔테이션을 받았습니다.

After that, we stood in a line and passed the purchased briquettes one by one.

그러고 나서, 우리는 일렬로 사서 구매한 연탄을 하나씩 전달하였습니다.

The senior citizens who received the briquettes were very happy, and I felt a great sense of fulfillment.

연탄을 받으신 어르신들이 아주 기뻐하셔서, 뿌듯함을 만끽하고 왔습니다.

I now plan to make briquette volunteering a regular part of my routine in the winter.

이제 연탄 봉사를 저의 겨울 루틴으로 정착시키려고 합니다.
