A: 너 문자 메시지 온 것 같다.
B: 아버지가 보내셨네. 답 문자 해야겠다.
A: 우와. 너 문자 진짜 빨리 보낸다.
B: 문자를 많이 보내다 보니까 연습이 된 거 같아.
A: 너 문자 많이 보내지, 그렇지 않니?
B: 응. 그런데 공짜야. 나는 요즘 카카오톡으로 문자 보내거든.
 
I use Kakao Talk for texting these days.
A: Hey, you seem to have gotten a text.
B: Oh, it's from my dad. Let me text him back.
A: Wow, you are pretty fast at text messaging.
B: Well, I get a lot of practice with all the texts I send.
A: You send a lot of texts, don't you?
B: Yeah, but it's free. I use Kakao Talk for texting these days.

요즘 사람들은 전화 통화만큼이나 자주 문자 메시지를 보낸다.
People text as often as they make phone calls these days.
문자는 메시지를 전하는 매우 빠르고 효율적인 방법이다.
Text messaging is a very fast and efficient way of getting your message across. 
수신자가 즉각적으로 메시지를 받을 수 있다.
The other person will get it instantly. 
더불어 여러 가지 일을 동시에 할 수 있게 도와주기도 한다.
It also allows you to multitask. 
짧은 문자 메시지는 SMS라고 부른다.
Shorter texts are called SMS. 
사진이나 동영상이 첨부된 더 긴 문자는 MMS라고 부른다.
Longer ones, or ones with pictures and video clips attached, are called MMS. 
어떤 사람들은 전화기를 보지도 않고 문자를 매우 빠르 게 보낸다.
Some people can text super fast without even looking at their phones. 
카카오톡과 같은 어플은 무료로 문자를 보낼 수 있게 해 준다.
Some smartphone applications, like Kakao Talk, allow people to text for free. 
문자에 있어서 한 가지 귀찮은 것은 스팸 문자를 받게 되는 것이다. 
One annoying thing about text messages is that you get spam texts. 
나는 그냥 즉시 삭제하고 그 번호를 차단한다.
I just delete them immediately and block the number
