25.01.16 My Lost Wallet 잃어버린 지갑

I hava a card wallet that a friend gifted me.

나에게는 친구가 선물해 준 카드 지갑이 하나 있다.

I always kept it in my bag.

가방에 항상 그 카드 지갑을 넣고 다녔다.

One day, after handing a credit card to my husband in the car, my wallet went missing for three days.

하루는 차에서 남편에게 카드를 꺼내 주고 내렸는데, 그 후 내 지갑이 3일째 안 보였다.

My husband searched the car thoroughly but said it wasn't there.

남편이 차 안을 샅샅이 다 찾아봤는데 없다고 했다.

I retraced my steps and called every place I had visited, including a restaurant, a hospital, and a pharmacy.

나는 온 길을 되짚어 내가 갔던 식당, 병원, 약국에 모두 전화를 해 보았다.

I also went through my pockets and other bags, but the wallet was nowhere to be found.

그리고 옷 주머니들과 다른 가방들까지 확인해 봤지만, 지갑은 어디에서도 나오지 않았다.

I felt so frustrated.

정말 가슴이 답답했다.

I eventually gave up, reported my ID and credit cards missing, and applied to have them reissued.

결국 포기하고, 신분증과 신용 카드를 분실 신고하고 재발급 신청을 했다.

Then, my husband called me via video chat on his way home from work.

그런데 남편이 퇴근길에 영상 통화를 걸어 왔다.

화면으로 카드 지갑을 비춰 주는데, 얼마나 기뻤는지 말로 다 못 한다.

It had slipped into a gap between the car seats, out of view.

자동차 의자 틈 사이에 빠져서 안 보였던 것이었다.

Now that I've found my card wallet again, I hope to use it for another ten years.

이제 다시 찾은 내 카드 지갑을 앞으로 10년은 더 쓰고 싶다.
