25.01.08 Reducing Paper Towel Use 페이퍼 타월을 아끼는 방법

Many restrooms these days provide paper towels for you to dry your hands.

요즘 화장실에 가면 손을 닦도록 페이퍼 타월을 제공하는 곳이 많다.

But just one sheet is usually not enough to completely dry wet hands, and most people end up using two.

하지만 보통 손에 있는 물기를 다 제거하려면 한 장으로는 충분하지 않고, 결국 두 장을 쓰는 사람들이 대부분이다.

I often think about the vast number of trees that have to be cut down to produce these towels, and it feels wasteful.

가끔 이 타월을 만든는 데 베어져야 할 엄청난 양의 나무를 생각하면 너무 아깝다는 느낌이 든다.

​I've always given a lot of thought to how I can save on paper towel usage.

나는 페이페 타월을 절약할 수 있는 방법이 없나 늘 고민을 많이 해 왔다.

First, after washing my hands, I shake them several times over the sink to remove excess water.

우선, 손을 씻은 후에 양손을 세면대에 여러 번 털어 남은 물기를 제거한다.

Then, I fold a paper towel in half before I use it.

그 다음에 페이퍼 타월을 한 번 접은 후에 사용하는데,

This way, one sheet is usually more than enough.

이렇게 하면 보통 한 장이면 충분하다.

An added benefit of this method is that it's a quick workout for your arms.
