24.10.15 Applauding Myself

I used to study “입트영“ using only my phone and e-books for quite some time.
나는 한동안 ‘입트영’을 휴대폰과 이북으로만 공부했다.

As a result, I often skipped a day, and it felt like I wasn’t getting the most out of my studies.
그러다 보니, 빠지는 날도 많았고 공부도 잘되지 않는 것 같았다.

So, at the start 2023, I decided to sign up for a one-year subscription to the printed textbook.
그래서 2023년 새해 시작부터 교재를 1년 정기 구독을 신청했다.

I resolved to study every day, Monday through Friday, without missing a single day.
월요일부터 금요일까지, 하루도 빠지지 않고 매일 공부하겠다고 다짐을 했다.

The regular broadcast of “입트영” is only 20 minutes long, but I used the replay feature to pause whenever I encountered an unfamiliar word to look it up.
‘입트영’ 정규 방송은 20분이지만, 다시 듣기를 활용해서 모르는 단어가 나오면 잠시 정지 버튼을 누르고 단어를 찾아가면서 공부했다.

Including the daily English writing exercises, it usually took me around 30 to 40 minutes.
그날의 영어 작문까지 포함하면, 보통 30분 내지 40분 정도 걸렸다.

Starting on January 2nd, the first Monday 20203, and continuing all the way to today, Friday, December 29, I finally made it through.
2023년 1월 2일 첫 월요일부터 시작해서, 오늘 12월 29일 금요일까지 마침내 끝까지 해냈다.

It was hard sometimes, especially when I had to catch up on two or three days’ worth of lessons after returning from a vacation or business trip.
여행이나 출장을 갔다 와서 2~3일치 분량을 몰아서 공부하는 것이 벅찰 때도 있었다.
* catch up on two or three days’ worth of : 2~3일 분량을 따라잡다

But I’ve finally achieved my goal without missing a single day.
하지만 계획했던 목표를 하루도 빠짐없이 해낸 나 자신에게

I want to give myself around of applause, saying, “You’ve worked hard, and you’ve done a great job.”
‘그동안 정말 수고했다, 그리고 참 잘했다’라고 박수갈채를 보내고 싶다.
