Lately, I've been completely hooked on studying English phrasal verbs.

저는 요즘 영어 구동사(phrasal verb) 공부에 푹 빠져 있습니다.

A phrasal verb is when a verb pairs up with an adverb or a preposition in an idiomatic way.

구동사는 '동사와 부사' 또는 '동사와 전치사'가 관용적으로 짝을 이루어, 두 단어가 하나의 동사처럼 사용되는 표현을 말합니다.

* pair up with : ~와 짝을 이루다

* in an idiomatic way : 관용적으로

The two words work together like a single verb.

Often, the two words combine to create a whole new meaning.

Since last December, I've been taking a course on phrasal verbs taught by Lee Hyun-seok on EBS Audio Language School.
